Quality is considered of  paramount importance at Sint Martinus. This was the case at his establishment more than 100 years ago and hasn’t changed since. Moreover the many years experience brought along a considerable knowledge of the product. Our customer can confide  the responsibility of safe product completely to Sint Martinus.


In 2002, the quality system of Sint Martinus was written down in a manual. Each step in the process was laid down in a procedure or instruction:

  1. the critical selection and evaluation of the suppliers
  2. the control of important parameters through the production process
  3. the evaluation of the quality of the manual by internal/external audits
  4. The follow-up of internal and external complaints, with corrective and effective measures
  5. Hygienic training for the staff
  6. Traceability of the clients’ products

With fixed regularity the quality of the manual is critically checked by independent agencies.

Sint Martinus now reaps the fruits of his efforts.

In 2003, the "BRC higher level" quality certificate was obtained (British Retail Consortium). This is the highest quality level of food safety and hygiene that can be reached in Europe.

Moreover, in 2004 Sint Martinus also obtained – as requested by our customers – the IFS certificate (International Food Standard). This Standard confirms among other things that Sint Martinus focuses on the customers: we feel strongly about customer satisfaction. Our motto is indeed:
